I love fried chicken. But who doesn’t right?
So I found an awesome recipe on Pinterest that I just had to try. A word of warning it has a lot of butter. The first time I made it I followed the recipe to the letter. It was tasty, but I didn’t care for all the butter and it was still soggier than I would have liked.
On my second attempt I did not use butter and I made sure there was a rack in the tray to collect drippings and ensure the skin remained nice and crisp.
I loved how it came out.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- salt
- paprika
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- black pepper
- 8 medium drumsticks
Directions to make them
Step 1 Preheat oven at 425 degrees
Step 2 Add flour, breadcrumbs and seasonings to a large bowl and mix together well.
Step 3 Dip chicken in flour mixture, make sure chicken is well coated.
Step 4 Place chicken on tray with iron rack
Step 5 Bake chicken for 30 minutes turning the drumsticks over halfway through.
Step 6 After baking time ends, remove chicken from oven and allow to cool on rack to catch extra drippings.
Tami’s Notes
You may use drippings from the pan to make a tasty gravy.
Seasoning amounts may vary depending on how many drumsticks you require.
